The old, dilapidated play structure in Laurel Park is now just a pile of rubble as the City prepares to install an all new playground. Work on the project began Tuesday, October 9th and will continue for 2-3 weeks. During that time, the public will have limited access to the park. At times, the park may be completely closed.
The design for the new play structure and swing set was chosen with input from Laurel Park residents at the Spring 2018 General Meeting. It will include a central “tree trunk” with slides and climbing areas as well as a new, traditional swing set.
There will be a ribbon cutting to celebrate the new structure at Tunes in the Park on November 17th. Tunes starts at 5pm. The dedication will be at 5:30. Kids and grandkids are encouraged to join in on the ribbon cutting.
Planning is also underway for some fresh landscaping and sod replacement, though a timeline for that work is not set.
